Luna Buschinelli is a visual artist, muralist, and illustrator who began her career in 2012 within São Paulo's graffiti and street art scene. Since then, she has expanded her work from the streets to canvas painting, murals, and digital animations displayed on large LED screens — constantly exploring the boundaries between physical and virtual space, and between the city and the digital landscapes that inhabit contemporary imagination.
Inspired by literature, philosophy, video games, and 2000s visual culture, her research investigates the emotional atmospheres of our time — turning our gaze toward both the beauty and the contradictions of our era. Her works engage with reflections from existentialist philosophy and psychoanalysis, seeking to understand how we construct meaning, identity, and memory in an increasingly fast-paced and connected world.
Her poetics and narrative converse through a cyberpunk imaginary, a dystopian universe where advanced technologies coexist with deep social inequalities. In the Brazilian context, this tension becomes even more apparent: hyperconnected cities coexist with complex urban realities, forming landscapes where antennas, wires, glowing screens, and graffiti-covered walls become part of the same visual narrative. It is within this hybrid territory, between technology and everyday life, that her imagery develops.
Throughout her career, she has created murals and projects in various cities across Brazil and abroad, most notably the "Contos" mural project in Rio de Janeiro (2017), recognized at the time as the world's largest mural by a female artist, as well as her collaboration with filmmaker Tim Burton and the Crunchyroll platform. Her production moves across different scales and mediums, from urban art to canvas painting and digital animations, reaffirming an artistic practice that connects the city, narrative, and contemporary imagination. By occupying both public space and digital platforms, her work seeks to broaden access to the artistic experience — driven by the conviction that art should not be a restricted privilege, but a living language capable of circulating and engaging with diverse people and contexts.
